Maine is full of amazing vendors, venues, floral designers and photographers. I think we all pull creativity from the rich and diverse landscapes Maine offers us. Today I’m going to highlight some of my favorite Barn Venues to photograph weddings. I know there are more out there that I haven’t had the opportunity to photograph, but these 5 venues are top notch and will definitely make your heart skip a beat when you check them out.
1.) Barn at Flanagan Farm: Located in Buxton Maine approximately 30 minutes from Portland, the Barn at Flanagan Farm offers an old farm house charm while all of modern day amenities and chic decor and accents. Your getting ready photos are sure to shine in their beautiful farm house, each room is elegantly decorated and offers beautiful bright light which makes every photographer ever so happy. The Farm offers am outdoor ceremony location, additional barn for rental for either music or back up rain option, a bar and of course the beautiful barn with the hayloft opened additionally there is on site parking and a large lawn where you can bring in some of your local favorite food truck vendors, like The Maine Photo Camper, Love KupCakes and our favorite Fire and Co.
2.) Hardy Farm: Located in the beautiful White Mountain Regions of Maine, the Hardy farm is ever so elegant. I mean what photographer doesn’t scream with glee to photograph a white washed barn! There is a lovely set back ceremony location and a permeant tent structure so you don’t have to rent a tent! The options to lodge in the charming house is also available which is ideal for getting ready on location! Who doesn’t love a venue that has lodging, barn, tent and ceremony all in one location!
3.) Beech Hill Barn : Is a new barn venue located in Pittston Maine roughly 30 minutes away from Augusta Maine. You guys this venue is stunning! There is a beautiful house on site to get ready in, an on location ceremony spot with beautiful mountains in the background, and of course a stunning barn. It is worth the trip, I promise. We hope to work there in the near future! Here is a post from one wedding photographed there , click here.
4.) William Allen Farm:
Located near our home town of Freeport in Pownal, Maine we just adore this venue. Easy access from Portland, but offers country charm. William Allen Farm is another venue that offers it all, onsite ceremony, getting ready and reception locations. I mean what more can you ask for? William Allen Farm’s rustic charm and elegance also has beautiful gardens and rolling fields which are great for your photography needs. Check out this wedding we love at this Charming Venue here.
Our hometown love… A beautiful white barn located in Freeport, Maine. The Mallet Barn at Wolfe Neck Farm is simply stunning. It is located on a charming road near Wolfe Neck State Park and Wolfe Neck Farm. One thing I adore about this location is that the fields are working fields so you and your guests will see livestock and a 5 minute ride you can also get some photos with Harraseeket Bay . Be sure to check out two of our weddings here and here!
6.) Roundtop Farm
Located in the ever so charming & iconic town of Damariscotta , Roundtop farm is the largest Barn out of the ones listed above. If you are looking for barn venues put it on your list, it is beautiful and has apple trees in front! You do have to be creative with lighting so it is worth the investment of hiring a lighting professional, such as The Event Light Pros Check out our wedding we adored there right here!
7.) Marianmade Farm
Marianmade Farm is a stunning venue. It has working lavender fields, on the water and is a beautiful modern barn! Check out this wonderful wedding we photographed there, right here.
We know there are many other beautiful venues we have yet to work at but these 5 have great charm! Other wonderful Barn Venues:
